Newborn Frequently Asked Questions
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is within 10 days of birth. Please contact me during your pregnancy so that we can arrange a session date and time that corresponds with your due date. I understand that babies RARELY come on time, the date we chose will be tentative.
I really enjoy customizing each newborn session to reflect your growing family. When we discuss your appointment date and time I will ask questions about your family and what your style and vision are when it comes to your newborns first portraits. Please feel free to send me any ideas that you have for the session.
Newborn sessions usually last about 2-3 hours. We will be taking lots of little breaks between poses to sooth, feed, and change your little one. Being a model is hard work! About 30 minutes prior to arrival I ask that you feed your baby so that he/she will have a full belly and will be well settled.
Sessions take place in my cute little home studio, where you will find endless amount of props. I encourage my clients to bring any items from home that they would like to use as props during the session. Don’t worry if you forget a hair bow or hat to match an outfit, I have many to choose from.
